SIMPLY
SHOULDERS "SIMPLY
SHOULDERS" is a 1 hour massage specifically for the shoulders and aims
to relieve the pain you may experience in this area. By combining trigger point
therapy, therapeutic massage, stretching techniques and energy work, the treatment
really is an effective treatment. Having already provided treatments of
this nature clients are reporting increased range of movement, a sense of freedom,
less stress as well as relief from pain and tension to name but a few. Client
comments include: Tina wrote: "I had a frozen shoulder which
caused pain around the shoulder, down my arm, restrictive movement and meant trouble
sleeping no matter which way I slept. After my first massage I had much better
movement and no pain down my arm. During the massage I could feel where the muscle
problem was and it gradually loosened. Looking forward to another massage!"
Jeanette said: "I thought I just had to put up with this pain
- I can't believe how much more movement I now have in my shoulders - they feel
so much freer!" What

Information Regarding the Shoulders The
shoulders are where many of us hold our tension and stress. It is where we carry
our responsibilities and burdens - so as the saying goes "we carry the weight
of the world on our shoulders". According to Debbie Shapiro - "It is
here that our innermost desires to create, express and execute are developed."
If we look a little deeper into the mind body connection we can ask ourselves
some questions which can relate directly to the shoulders
..
·
Are we doing what we really want
to do in our lives? ·
Are we really free to express our
love and caring? ·
Are we hugging the person we want
to be hugging? ·
Are we reaching out for what we
really desire? ·
Do we participate fully in life or do we hold back
and stay locked away inside? ·
Are we fearful to be ourselves? ·
Do we act freely? ·
Are we expressing our attitudes? ·
Do we feel guilty or fearful about any of the above? ·
Does this hold us rigid? Muscles
can accommodate the emotions attached with the answers to the questions above
and so sometimes we hold our shoulders in accordance with this. So we can become
aware of how we hold our shoulders. Are they hunched, may be overburdened by the
weight of life's problems? Are they held high and rigid with fear and anxiety?
Are they held back whilst we push our chest out, so putting up a big front? Are
the muscles holding on to mental energy too, so are they knotted and tight as
they contain our restrained desires? The closer we keep these feelings and conflicts
to ourselves, the more tense and rigid our shoulders will be. Obviously
this is just one way of thinking about things, and perhaps it has triggered a
response within you - you'll know if it has and you'll also know if you want to
leave it be for now or perhaps look at it further.
