Forward to Work

Motivational Courses for the Unemployed

'Forward To Work' is an exciting new motivational course, where the aim is to assist and empower unemployed people to find employment or re-training they really want to getup to do in the morning.

As a Consultant to 'Forward To Work' I work with unemployed individuals, using a number of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques, whilst facilitating this innovative four-week programme, which is currently run in the town where I grew up - Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.

Sometimes individuals have been out of work for a short period of time, but are looking for new challenges. Others may never have worked or they have little employment history. Some have lost their direction and are looking for a new one, others don't have a clue what they want to do or where they want to be.

Being out of work can bring with it many problems for these individuals, such as:

Low self-esteem

Lack of confidence and self-belief

Lack of motivation

Self imposed barriers

Inability to communicate

Negative emotions

Negative behaviour patterns and beliefs

Lack of positive mental attitude

Fear of change

None of this matters. If the intention to work is there, then we at 'Forward to Work' can help encourage, empower and unearth the potential inside so that dreams can be fulfilled.

Using techniques learned during my in-depth NLP training, I can assist with helping individuals address issues and thought processes, which are hampering them and their current life situations from moving forward. Alternative ways of thinking and looking at problems with new insights can help these people develop and progress with great speed and self-motivation.

Course Format

The 'Forward To Work' course follows the following format:

A visit to an outdoor pursuits centre in the Lake District where involvement in team games occurs, interests are explored and boundaries are stretched - all while meeting new people and having fun!

A two-week job preparation course follows. During this time we introduce local employers to the course candidates. The individuals are encouraged to explore their natural skills and abilities, set goals and learn the job search tricks of the trade.

A Job Search Coach then provides another two weeks intensive support to assist the candidates to take their new approach out into the world and help them get their foot in the door.

A telephone help line number is provided to all attendees, so they can call for further support as long as they need it!

Attendees of the 'Forward to Work' course have been successful in gaining employment in areas such as:

Accountancy

Building & Decorating

Catering

Childcare

IT

Outreach Work

Retail

Social Care

Voluntary Work

So far, 80% of participants who have attended the four-week course have succeeded in getting the job or training they want.

Additional Programmes

At 'Forward To Work' we also have the ability to run specialist programmes, which we can tailor make to suit requirements, for example:

Mum's course - aimed specifically at mum's returning to work, or finding work for the first time.
